Tag Archives: Autumn

It’s been a chillin’ out kind of weekend. I can’t say I’ve sat and done nothing, but everything has been done at a typical Devonian pace – slowly!

I’m still covered in red blotchy spotty stuff – head to toe – so much for antihistamines! It itches a bit, but not too bad, thankfully.

Yesterday we did town, coffee and shopping and then went for a short around-the-block walk.

Lovely day! I really love days when you get those little white fluffy clouds.

Today I have faffed around the house before putting in the beef to roast and heading out for the same walk again. Get me!

There be dragons! 🙂

And food! Mmm – autumn is so lovely!

Tomorrow I go into work for the last time to have farewell drinks. Not sure if I’m looking forward to it or not. Ho hum.

Have a marvellous Monday!

Dark Mornings, Dark Evenings

That’s it now until March – it is dark when I drive to work, and dark when I drive home. Roll on Summer! 🙂

I absolutely love the autumn colours, but hate the darkness. Such a dilemma!

Office today, so I took these pictures at lunch when I went for a little walk around. I must try to get out at lunchtimes now so I get my vitamin D!

Work was full of meetings, just a bit if ham salad for lunch and bow nothing as it is a fasting day! I’m hungry!

Tomorrow I’m home, so hopefully I’ll get to see a bit more daylight.

Have a terrific Tuesday!

Autumn Crispness

What a beautiful day!

It started a bit late for me – I coughed most of the night, so at about 1:00 am I picked up my pillows and quilt and retired to the spare room. There is no bed in there (now on the list!), so I put the quilt on the floor and rolled it around me. Not comfy, but at least I could cough without disturbing hubby.

So, a lazy start meant it was late morning by the time we went onto town. I dropped off some old clothes at the charity shop, bought a ball pump for the rugby ball, then had coffee in my favourite Nero’s. We dropped in at a new cafe as the lady is willing to have local artists exhibit in the restaurant, so hubby did some schmoozing!

From town we headed to the supermarket. First we got a take out sandwich, bag of crisps and bottle of apple juice – a meal deal for £3! We sat outside in the sunshine and shared it all. That is where I noticed the lovely autumn colours of the trees outside the supermarket. Just lovely.

Lunch done, shopping done, home and put away. It was so nice we took the long route for our walk – 3.5 miles and it was beautiful.

Lots of water around from yesterday, but not too bad.

I’m looking forward to watching Strictly in a moment, so a nice relaxing night for me. I hope I can get through tonight without too much coughing!

Have a super Sunday!

Another day at the office, so meetings and boring stuff like that – sorry!

Tuna for lunch and ham for dinner – sounds good doesn’t it? Well, I guess I need to mention the pack of Rolo’s and mint Aero bar! Whoops!

This evening we took the rugby ball for a walk – bit nippy out there tonight!

Lovely bit of sunshine, but chilly.

Me and my shadow! 🙂

Finally I get a day working at home tomorrow, so a mini lie in will be most welcome.

Have a lovely day!

Autumn Arrives

Wet and windy today, in fact, it has been blowing a gale and I can’t quite get my head around how many leaves are floating about now. Where on earth did summer go?

I worked at home today, which was lovely. As usual I got lots done, including a one hour telephone meeting with the Management Team back at the office. Usually I’m not keen on attending by phone as I always feel a bit “remote” (cos I am!), but today was different. I was asked at the last minute to attend as my boss was elsewhere, happy to oblige, and having invested in a proper headset a year or so ago, it makes life easier. Any way, I ended up picking up some work that I am really interested in, and have been wanting to get my teeth into for a while, so I am very happy and really looking forward to doing this particular job.

In other news, we had a nice lunch of some French Onion soup with a slice of wholemeal bread. It was lovely, but I was starving by mid-afternoon! I had a bit of flapjack to tide me over, but keeping busy was my only distraction.

Late afternoon the rain stopped long enough for us to dash around the village. Well, when I say dash, you know I mean plod! It was good to run and get out of the house and into the fresh air though. For the first time in many months I wore a jacket – just a thin wind proof over my tee shirt and shorts, but a jacket nonetheless. Autumn is here.

Dinner was salad again, with some corned beef and a couple of small boiled potatoes for carbs. That’s better!

Tomorrow I am working at home again, with the added benefit of making cakes. We have a cake sale at work on Thursday to raise funds for a little girl who needs some expensive cancer treatment. My task is to make a tray of chocolate brownies, a tray of cranberry, macadamia and white chocolate blondies, and a dozen carrot cup cakes. I hope they turn out alright!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!
